"The HIS R9 290X iPower IceQ X2 performed great across all our testing and proved to be a worthy contender in the crowded R9 290X market. As far as pricing goes, this exact same card without the factory applied overclock sells for $509.99 at Newegg, so I’ll venture to say you’ll see anywhere from a $20 to $30 premium added for this overclocked version. That would make the final price very attractive and certainly one of the least expensive R9 290X offerings with a factory overclock on both the GPU and memory.

The gold colored shroud and the unique grab handle give the card a look that will stand out from other manufacturer’s offerings. Just under that gold colored shroud is the IceQ X2 cooler, which does a great job of keeping the card cool at a very low noise level.

Overclocking proved easy to accomplish using the HIS iTurbo utility, especially with the ability to adjust GPU and memory voltages. Provided you have good case cooling, the card should run happily at roughly a 15% overclock. So, in the end, we have a great performing card that should be available soon at an attractive price."

"The cooler is incredibly quiet and keeps the GPU in the extremely safe temperature range, even when overclocking. Saying this cooler leaves the reference cooler in the dust would be a serious understatement. The GPU comes packaged to perfection. If someone was going to hurt this GPU in transit, they would have to be playing hacky sack with the box!

Moving on to pricing, the R9 280 has an MSRP of $249 from AMD, and HIS brought this card in at $259 MSRP. Very nice pricing to get such a great cooler. Currently on Newegg it’s on sale for $249, which gets you upgraded cooling for AMD’s MSRP.

Don’t forget that this GPU also can take advantage of Mantle, AMD’s technology that was implemented into Battlefield 4. If extra performance in Mantle-enabled titles is something that suits your usage, then perhaps this could sway your decision toward this GPU. Mantle or not, the HIS R9 280 IceQ X2 performs admirably, runs cool and quiet, and does so at a great price point. "

“The HIS Radeon R7 260X iCooler offers 2 GB GDDR5 memory at a low price of $130 US and has performance for smooth 1080P gaming. The HIS Radeon R7 260X iCooler we were shipped features the iCooler heatsink cooler which delivers much better cooling and stability over the reference model. This coupled with a custom designed PCB which improves overall stability and power rating of the board.

The Radeon R7 260X features a single CrossFire connectors which allow multi-GPU functionality with upto two R7 260X graphic cards. CrossFireX mode allows for faster performance without spending more on a faster card.

For cooling, the HIS Radeon R7 260X iCooler uses a toned down cooler from the IceQ X2 variant to reduce cost that don’t get much loud under load staying at a decent 28dB and are specifically designed to push handful of air into the heatsink so that the card stays cool even under massive loads and overclocked conditions. The Q&C 11 fan blades increases air velocity make cooling more efficiently while keeping noise level at minimum.”

“The card has over its GeForce competitors is the fact that it makes use of 3 GB VRAM and a 384-bit bus interface which does impact performance when moving onto higher resolution displays. IceQ X² is one of the quietest coolers, making the card quieter than the reference cooler. The card is below 28dB when watching movies, surfing Facebook, working. The card remains quiet whether you are gaming, online socializing, entertaining or working.

It should be noted that the non-reference design allows for more stability and much improved overclocking support than the reference variant. For cooling, the HIS Radeon R9 280 IceQ x2 uses two 89mm dual axil fans that tend to get loud under load but are specifically designed to push lots of air into the heatsink so that the card stays cool even under massive loads and overclocked conditions. The Q&C fan blade increases air velocity make cooling more efficiently while keeping noise level at minimum.

HIS cards are engineered with the highest standard of safety, preventing them any potential damages. Solid State Choke stabilizes the card and Full Solid State Capacitors ensures the best power quality and enhances the card’s stability in critical gaming situations! The HIS special metal rib provides extra strength to the PCBs to avoid warpage, making the cards extra stable and durable. You can count on HIS cards to game hard for 24/7/365 for years!”

"HIS brought to the market another solid choice in the 290 landscape with their R9 290 iPower IceQ X2 OC. With its slightly beefier PCB to its solid performing (and silent when not pushed past a certain point) iCooler attached, they have again brought a very viable option to users.

One great thing I have noticed since I last reviewed their cards is that with this version of cooler there is room to get the power plugs on and off. Their blower style cooler you literally had to bend it a little to get my fingers in there.

Price-wise, the HIS R9 290 iPower IceQ X2 OC comes in at $379.99 at Newegg.com. That is the least expensive of ALL the 290s Newegg has listed by $20 (not including MIR). So with its better than reference PCB on this iPower version, quiet and solid performing cooling solution in their iCooler, as well as being the cheapest available, go get it if you are looking for a 290. “ If you’re asking for a video card that is really fast, quiet and runs cool, the HIS IceQ R9 290X iPower Hybrid iTurbo 4GB is what you should be looking at. Stock or overclocked further, it’s just awesome.

The addition of water cooling brings with it lower temperature numbers, which of course means that companies are able to throw higher clock speeds through the card. The addition of water, though, means that you can also give the card quite a healthy bump in terms of voltage, and still have the core temperature kept under control. The HIS offering runs at lower noise levels, idles at a lower temperature and offers stronger out of the box overclocks.

This is the kind of video card you should be using if you were to ask for a fast single GPU based PC that will run cool and quiet. Paired with a good AIO cooling solution for your CPU, you've just got yourself a beautiful gaming PC that will no doubt be the envy of all your friends.”

"Looking at the HIS R9 270X IceQ X2 Turbo Boost 2GB, you do have to find yourself kind of surprised with just what this mid-range $200 odd video card is capable of achieving.
The cooler on the card is extremely strong, it runs at a great noise level, and temperature numbers are on the low side too, which is always great.

If you're looking for a mid-range video card that isn't going to break the bank, the chances are the R9 270X 2GB is a model that you've been looking at from AMD. As for the HIS variant of the card, we've got a really nice offering here. I'm a huge fan of the I/O configuration they're using, which sees two Mini DisplayPort connectors. The overclock on the core is nice enough to give us a performance boost and the cooler is capable of giving us some more headroom, if we want to fire up some overclocking software and go a bit higher.

The HIS R9 270X IceQ X2 Turbo Boost Clock 2GB is a great performing card and continues to show us why we love the mid-range AMD Radeon series so much. We get more performance than you'd expect, and at a great price point."

Pros
- Silent work
- Good performance/price ratio
- Reasonable price
- Runs cool
- Good overclocking

"The HIS iCooler series graphics run cool and quiet which is all we could hope to expect from a graphics card with this type of cooling. Also, the R7 250X and 260X cards from the iCooler series are showing a good culture of work. We had no problems with stability or temperatures on both of the reviewed graphics cards.

Looking at the performance, we have to consider the graphics cards' price. In this case some gamers would say that these cards are slow. On the other hand, it is hard to find faster graphics cards in similar price.

All who decide to pick these cards for daily work and casual gaming will not be disappointed. Considering that the most popular monitors are still offering a 1080p screen resolution, then these cards should be a good enough, inexpensive option."
